Our Story

The Sleep Center in Pensacola, FL opened its doors to the public in 1995 at the direction of Thane Taylor. Steve Branham is now a co-owner and assists Thane in caring for the customers of Pensacola, Florida. By following the traditions of the earlier stores, it quickly became the area's most trusted specialty sleep shop.

After outgrowing two different spaces, they decided it was time to build the area‘s first stand-alone ‘‘Mattress Superstore’’. Their building is one of the largest of its kind in the Southeastern United States.

Local Ownership

Thane & Steve not only live in Pensacola, Florida, along with their wives, children and extended family... they are well-established in the community and care passionately about Escambia County's success as a whole. You can often find the Taylor & Branham families golfing, boating, attending a community event or giving back at a charity function. As the operators of this locally-owned family business since 1995, they spend their time in a positive way and believe in paying it forward and giving back to help others succeed in life, too. Steve is also the brother to Richard, the owner of The Sleep Center in Panama City, Florida.
